At the symposium marking the 42nd session of the Slovenian Pharmaceutical Society in Portorož from 11th to 13th May the Medicines Verification Institute participated at a round table discussion titled Influence of implementing European legislation on the prevention of falsified medicines.
Participants at the round table included:

  • Dr. Stanislav Primožič, Deputy Director at the Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices, presenting the legal basis and obligations of implementation of European legislation on the prevention of falsified medicines and benefits for the patient;
  • Mitja Pirman, Director of MVI, presenting the organization of implementation of the Directive in Slovenia;
  • Miran Golub, Chairman of the Slovenian Chamber of Pharmacy, presenting the influence of Directive implementation on the work of pharmacies.

Presentations were followed by a discussion. The subject of the discussion proved to be current and engaging for the visitors as the panel received many questions posed by attendees using an online application.
The visitors were also invited to vote through the application Slido. The results showed, that our presentation raised the awareness about the importance and the role of pharmacies in the implementation of the EU Directive on prevention of falsified medicines.
